We hope this blog will encourage Reed students to speak their minds and respond to each other in a friendly, safe, environment. We hope it will bring students closer together and help students meet new people that they didn't even know existed at our school. This blog will be run by students with a little help from teachers. It will be run by us because we know exactly what we feel, and we want to know and understand each other. This blog is a new way to share what is going on around school.

Immigration

Immigration is a delicate topic here in the United States. I am 100 % sure that everyone should have equal rights. It doesn’t matter where you come from, or the color of your skin. We are all human beings. Immigrants don’t have the same opportunities as the people who were actually born here, and, because of that, immigrants feel that they have to be sneeking around, always afraid of being deported. Immigrants are just here to work and earn some money. Just like the people who were born here. It’s not fair.

Anonymous said...: I agree with your topic, but personnally I have not experienced being deported, nor am I an immigrant. No one should treat you different because of the color of your skin or your race. Its not that we all don't have equal rights because we do, but we have some more privaleges then others because this is the country we were born and raised. Immigrants also have same opportunities as us, as long as they go to school and if there able to go to college then they preety much have same opportunities as us. Not everything in life is fair thats why laws were created to have everyone treated equally.; January 21, 2011 at 1:40 PM
